ionedTZbleTZctThe aim of the thesis was to study the effect and safety of two radioimmunotherapies (RITs), in preclinical models of non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma (NHL) and chronic lymphocytic leukaemia (CLL).

RIT combines antibodies, specifically targeting cancer cells, with radionuclides, emitting cytotoxic radiation to the cancer cells. Lu-NNV emits β radiation and is more suitable to treat bulky diseases like NHL. The radiation is long-ranged and can harm cells in clusters even though Lu-NNV is not bound to all of them.

Pb-NNV emits α ra-diation, which is short-ranged but more cytotoxic.

Thus, it is more suitable to treat disseminated diseases like CLL. The studies showed that Lu-NNV and Pb-NNV had good anti-tumour effect and caused reversible haematologi-cal toxicity in mouse models. Olaparib inhibits PARP, which is responsible for repairing DNA single-strand breaks (SSB).
